Council hears updated 2027 valuations and preliminary-levy schedule
Staff updated the council on 2027 valuation estimates from Anoka County and said by state law the city must approve a preliminary budget and submit a preliminary levy certification by Sept. 30; the proposed preliminary tax levy presentation is scheduled for the Sept. 1 council meeting.

Staff briefed the council on updated 2027 estimated market values provided by Anoka County and discussed how county and school-district proposed levy increases could affect Andover’s levy. Mr. Brezinca noted the difference in the proposed levy if road bonding were excluded and reviewed how shifts in valuation affect city budgeting.
