Washington County approved a $580,500 final design contract with TKDA for the County Highway 555/County Road 55 (Casa 5) and County Highway 96 intersection improvement, adopted a resolution to acquire required right-of-way, and moved $50,000 within the project budget to planning and design.

The full story

Public Works project manager Andrew Giesen presented the Casa 5/County Road 55 & County Highway 96 intersection improvement project, noting the project is included in the county capital improvement plan (RB 2807), secured $500,000 in federal funding, began preliminary design and outreach January 2025, and plans construction in 2027. Giesen said the county is ready to begin final design and right‑of‑way acquisition and recommended three board actions: approve a final design contract with TKDA for $580,500; adopt a resolution to acquire necessary permanent and temporary easements; and approve a $0 net budget amendment shifting funds from right-of-way to planning and design.
