Feb 19, 2026
Public works officials told the council Yellow Tree plus Roar's are expected to add about 1,500 trips/day to Eastpoint Douglas Road but traffic would remain under the road's 5,000 trips/day capacity. Officials flagged pedestrian connectivity on four‑lane stretches and recommended continuing monitoring and applying Safe Streets for All funding for citywide pedestrian review.

Public Works Director Ryan Burfine reported to council that existing traffic counts on Eastpoint Douglas Road are roughly 1,100 trips per day and that the Yellow Tree development combined with the Roar's project would add about 1,500 trips per day, bringing the estimate to about 2,600 trips per day. "So we're looking at 2,600 trips per day on East Point Douglas Road and the capacity is 5,000," Burfine said, adding the capacity figure meant the roadway could accommodate the increase from a design standpoint.
