The Grainger County commission approved a proposal to move and reconstruct the county's first courthouse on Feb. 9, 2026. Commissioner Luke Stratton moved and Commissioner Jesse Cline seconded the motion to move and reconstruct the 1st Grainger County Courthouse in the courtyard adjacent to the existing courthouse; the roll call vote recorded 14 ayes and one absence (Anna Blanken).
