Kyle Pearson told the board that the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation (TDEC) awarded an additional 5 percent—$37,500—to the city's Land and Parks Recreation Fund (LPRF) project for the park. Pearson said the city had requested additional funding several months earlier and the award increases the grant by the cited amount.
