Committee recommends moving 'slash' program from solid waste into fire code
Ben proposed relocating the village's 'slash' (brush/fuel reduction) provisions from the solid-waste chapter into the fire-code/hazard chapter because the fire department now manages that program; Santos suggested adding a parenthetical cross-reference if the code is moved.

Ben (S3) told the committee that since 2023 the fire department has handled the village's slash program and recommended relocating the slash provisions from Title 4, Chapter 3 (solid waste) to the village's fire-code/fire-hazard sections so the code is easier to find and consistent with current operations. "I would like to see that removed from title 4, chapter 3 to title 1, chapter 1... That would be fire code or fire hazard," Ben said.
