The full story
The board discussed whether to use available capital funds to retire an outstanding police‑station bond maturing in 2033. Town manager Hawkins reviewed the payoff implications, explaining the town could pay the bond from the 1% capital fund or from general fund balance, and that paying now would remove the annual levy payment but reduce the 1% fund. Hawkins reported there is roughly "$649,000 in the 1% fund" and that the general fund balance is about "$895,004.52," and estimated the budgetary reduction if paid from the 1% fund would be about "$23,003.32."
