The full story

Greg Strailey addressed the board during the general public comment period and said he submitted complaint forms on Oct. 16 but had received no written replies. He accused the quarry/operation (Peckham) of ongoing noise and dust problems, said a prior noise study showed exceedances and a promised dust study has not been completed, and urged officials to "drive up there tomorrow" to see dust and security issues at the site. Strailey told the board that trucks are tracking rocks onto public streets, gates are left unlocked after hours, and permit requirements to keep dust on site are not being enforced.
