The committee recessed consideration of House Bill 314, which would prohibit the use of federal, state, or local funds for lobbying activities, to allow Representative Turcotte time to draft a proposed repeal-and-replace amendment. Turcotte told the committee he had begun substantial work on an amendment in the prior days and asked that the item be taken up at a later date; the chair agreed to recess HB314 to a date to be set and said the committee would aim to provide members at least two weeks of review time before the next filing date.
