Julie Lawson of St. Joseph County Community Corrections asked the committee to approve internal transfers within a grant account so the program can pay standard operating expenses such as food, utilities, laundry and maintenance supplies. "We are seeking approval to move funds within our grant account to into fund line items that we can pay other necessary items like food, utilities, laundry, and some maintenance supplies," Lawson said. "So we're just seeking no money but just approval to move them from certain funds to others so we can pay bills."
Committee members had no questions; the item received a motion, a second and a favorable recommendation to the full council.
Lawson gave the committee the office address for Community Corrections and affirmed that the request does not seek new money but only internal movement of existing grant funds. The committee did not record additional conditions on how the transfers must be reported to council or audited beyond standard county procedures.
