Cheltenham SD opens HVAC service bid; Chadwick lowest at $50,000 per year

At the May 6 Finance Committee meeting, the district disclosed that it had opened bids for an HVAC service agreement to provide routine maintenance on boilers and major HVAC equipment.
The committee heard that only one responsive bidder, Chadwick, submitted a proposal and that Chadwick’s bid was the lowest at $50,000 per year on a two-year term. Staff explained the agreement covers routine maintenance and baseline service visits; replacement parts and large repairs would remain outside the baseline contract and be procured or bid separately if needed.
Board members asked how the service agreement is billed and whether repairs are included. Staff replied that routine maintenance is included in the annual amount, while out-of-scope repairs (for example, a major refrigeration or freezer repair) would be priced separately and competitively bid when appropriate.
No contract award vote was recorded at the meeting; staff said the award and contract details would appear on a future board agenda.
