Stantec change order for raw water intake: The committee approved change order No. 8 to Stantec Consulting Services for the 1909 raw water intake replacement (RFP 19-02) in the amount of $991,165. Staff explained that earlier change orders and amendments expanded the engineering scope for construction support and allowed work through the winter; the committee approved the change order 5-0. Staff said construction costs for the Ballard contract total about $47.2 million and that the project is funded through a mix of IPA low-interest loans and WIFIA federal loan funding; long-term debt service will be rolled into wholesale customer rates.
Safe Routes to School grant application: The committee accepted Resolution 91-R-25 authorizing the city to apply for Illinois Department of Transportation Safe Routes to School funding. Staff said the city is the principal sponsor and District 65 is a partner; the grant would cover eligible costs at 100% with no local match required. Committee members discussed program management and potential supplemental funding sources; the committee approved the resolution unanimously.
