BID forms subcommittee to plan services for start of CLMMD-funded programs

The Downtown Business Improvement District voted Sept. 29 to form a subcommittee to address logistics for provision of services funded by the CLMMD assessments.
Board members said hiring an executive director and launching contracted services are contingent on assessment revenue. The subcommittee’s purpose is to develop a plan for how services will be provided once funds begin to arrive and to ensure fundholders and payers see services rendered.
During discussion board members reiterated staff estimates that bills could be issued within about five days of authorization and that property owners would have about 30 days to pay; the earliest revenues could therefore arrive late October but more likely in November. The board approved creating the logistics subcommittee so planning could proceed before significant revenue arrives.
The motion to create the logistics subcommittee passed by voice vote. The board said the subcommittee will coordinate timing of hiring or contracts with anticipated cash flows from initial assessments.
