The Boulder County Board of County Commissioners approved routine consent items, appointed a member to a local improvement district and authorized three separate executive sessions during its Oct. 7 business meeting.
The board voted by voice to approve consent items 5a through 5f after a motion to “move approval of 5 a through f.” The board took a voice vote; a clerk recorded the motion and seconds and the board responded “Aye. Aye.”
The board then moved and seconded a motion to appoint Heidi Gerstung to the Eldorado Springs Local Improvement District as a member-at-large; the motion carried on a voice vote. “I move that we appoint Heidi Gerstang to the Eldorado Springs LID,” a commissioner said, followed by a second and a voice vote of “Aye.”
Later the board voted to authorize three executive sessions, each relocated to Wednesday, Oct. 8, with County Attorney Ben Perlman present: - Under Colorado Revised Statutes (CRS) 24-6-402(4)(e) to give instructions to negotiators on the collective bargaining agreement with the Boulder County Employees Union; the motion passed on a voice vote. - Under CRS 24-6-402(4)(b) to discuss open records issues related to the sale of Boulder County’s North Broadway complex at Broadway and Iris; the motion passed on a voice vote that recorded “Aye. Aye.” and there was no opposition. - Under CRS 24-6-402(4)(a) for real property matters related to the North Broadway complex; the motion similarly passed on a voice vote.
No final budget decisions were made at the meeting; departments presented requests for the 2026 budget and the board scheduled further review and a public hearing on Oct. 14 before formal decisions on Nov. 6.
