Group proposing 'The Shell' gets county agreement to help search for suitable site
After a presentation on a proposed performing arts venue called The Shell at St. Augustine, the board gave consensus to direct staff to assist the project in searching for a suitable location and noted it would not conflict with a separate RFP for World Golf Village.

A nonprofit-led proposal to create The Shell at St. Augustine — a mid-sized performing arts venue intended to support arts, culture and heritage organizations — received a positive reception from the Board of County Commissioners on April 15. Presenter Dr. Eric A. Becher outlined the project goals and organizers asked for county assistance in identifying a suitable site.
