Audit of draft articles: issues and required fixes

Audit across all draft articles identified inconsistent spellings in the transcript, numeric inconsistencies in project cost figures, missing named sources for several statements, and other clarity issues; these are flagged for verification and correction.
I audited the draft articles against meeting transcript and newsroom rules. The following issues were found and must be addressed before publication or used as basis for verification with staff:
- Organization/name inconsistencies: The transcript uses multiple spellings for the local domestic-violence resource (appears as "Bridal Center" and "Scribe Center/Bridal") and other words (e.g., "El Capo" instead of El Campo). Confirm the correct organization and spelling with the city or the nonprofit before publication.
- Numeric inconsistencies: Staff remarks about the Titan Investor Group utility extension included conflicting dollar figures for the developer payment and total project cost (e.g., $25,462.40 vs. $25,004.62 and totals of $32,005.87). Verify figures against the recorded agreement/contract.
- Speaker identification: Several motions and comments were made by unnamed council members in the transcript. Where possible, obtain the meeting minutes or roll-call to attribute motions to specific council members rather than generic "Council member (unnamed)."
- Sales-tax and permitting clarity: Council discussion about whether out-of-town food trucks collect sales tax and the structure of permits was unclear on the record. Confirm with the city finance or tax office how sales tax is collected from transient vendors and whether permit status affects collection.
- Packet references and figures: Bid and procurement amounts were referenced as being in the packet (page 52) but were not read into the record. For procurement reporting, reference the actual bid tab in the packet for exact prices and winning bidders.
Severity summaries: spelling/organization naming (medium), numeric inconsistencies for Titan project (high), missing attribution for motions (medium), sales-tax/permitting clarity (medium), packet/price details omitted (low to medium).
