Commission cancels prior Bartlett paving solicitation, approves reissue and design task order

After two unsuccessful bid efforts, Colfax County canceled the prior RFP for Bartlett Subdivision paving and approved a task order to reissue revised bid documents and advertise the project again.
Colfax County commissioners on Sept. 16 canceled a previously issued request-for-bids for Bartlett Subdivision paving after the county received no bids on a re-advertisement and earlier bids exceeded available funds. The Commission then approved a task order to revise drawings and specifications and re-advertise the project.
Why it matters: The Bartlett paving project has been advertised twice. The first round produced bids above available funding; the second produced no bids. The task order approved to support the re-advertisement will cover revisions to construction documents and the bidding process at an estimated professional fee near $7,900 (before tax).
Staff said the re-advertisement is ready to run and that wage-rate determinations need to be finalized before publication. They anticipate opening bids in October and moving to construction in spring if weather prevents this year’s work. The Commission approved reissuing the RFB and the task order to prepare the procurement.
