County introduces Jonathan Slater as new purchasing agent

At the Sept. 16, 2025 Purchasing Committee meeting, staff introduced Jonathan Slater as the county's promoted purchasing agent. A committee member said, "I wanna introduce...Jonathan Slater, who, thankfully, has been promoted to our purchasing agent. So he'll be coming here, not me, in the future." Slater then reviewed surplus materials the office is processing.
Slater told the committee the top pages of the submission are records from fiscal year 2025 and that the list includes items departments have disposed of or identified as obsolete. "The top 4 pages are from fiscal year 25, and this is what we either sold obsolete things that different departments have gotten rid of in one way or another," he said. He singled out two items in the current year that still require formal surplus declaration: a front-end loader for rural solid waste and a GMC Yukon assigned to accounts and budgets.
Committee members congratulated Slater on the promotion. Slater will handle future purchasing-committee items and coordinate surplus sales and asset disposition with department staff.
