The Public Safety and Emergency Service Committee voted to accept two grants from the New York State Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services to support explosive‑detection canine capability. One grant, legislative request 248, provides $60,000 to establish an explosive‑detection K‑9 team; a second grant, legislative request 249, provides funds to maintain existing explosive‑detection teams.
