Village Manager Andy Perini told the board that the U.S. Postal Service informed the village it will not be assigned its own ZIP code. Perini said the USPS would work with the village clerk to set Pingree Grove as the default place name for online purchases — an effort intended to help with sales tax reporting — and had promised to provide a contact for residents with mail-delivery issues by the end of the week.
