Riverview councilors passed a resolution opposing a proposed state increase in landfill tipping fees and asked their Michigan representative to intervene. Representative Linting told the council she understood the community’s financial concerns and that, as written, the proposed tipping-fee increase could impose severe burdens on municipal waste systems.
