Committee approves Sidwell contract to migrate cadastral tax database

The administration committee on Sept. 10 authorized a contract with Sidwell to support training and data conversion for the county's cadastral tax database. Kurt Liebo, director of the GIS department, said the county's current parcel-drawing software is becoming unsupported on newer operating systems and the department must migrate to a replacement. "The software that we use to draw all the the tax parcels, is going out of date, is unsupported, is not being supported on the new operating system supported by the county. So we're migrating to the new software, and the Sidwell company was the most responsive responsible bidder for that work," Liebo said. He recommended approval of a one-year contract, with the ability to extend for two additional years, for $43,105. The committee approved the recommendation by roll call. Liebo said the work will support the department's mandated function of maintaining the cadastral tax database and that the vendor will provide conversion and training services to bring the county up to the supported platform.
