Planning staff told the Buckeye Planning and Zoning Commission on Aug. 26 that commissioners will meet for a 5 p.m. workshop on Sept. 23 to review the city’s Housing Action Plan and that a substantial Development Code update will appear on a future regular meeting agenda.
Ken, identified in the record as planning manager, said the Sept. 23 meeting will begin with a 5 p.m. workshop — likely in the Executive Conference Room — to discuss the Housing Action Plan, followed by the regular meeting. Ken said food will be provided and that principal planner Mandy Woods is leading the Development Code update, which staff has been working on for several months and which the commission should expect as a “big night.”
Ken also said the Oct. 14 regular meeting will include an informational presentation by the Water Resources Department at the request of Commissioner Bassler to address common questions about city water supply and growth; Terry Lowe, identified as the city’s water resources director, is expected to join that discussion. Ken said staff hopes to schedule an additional informational presentation by traffic staff in a future meeting.
The items are informational presentations and workshops intended to give commissioners background and to solicit feedback before staff returns any proposals for formal action. No votes were taken on those items at the Aug. 26 meeting.
