Funding and legislation: NCTV staff briefed the board about pending state legislation to extend a streaming fee that funds local access channels, noting the House committee had extended a reporting deadline to Nov. 14 and that the bill remained under consideration in the Senate ways-and-means process. Presenters said the bill would extend a fee to streaming services to help maintain funding that historically came via cable franchise fees.
Board members thanked NCTV for programming and community events and asked staff to keep the board updated on the streaming fee bill.
