Summary
TEA accountability data released this summer show Belton ISD improved across domains, earning an overall B (80), strong growth in Closing the Gaps and a 94% college-career-military-readiness rate; district leaders said curriculum alignment and professional learning underpinned the gains.
Belton ISD reported on Aug. 18 that Texas Education Agency accountability ratings show the district achieved a B (80) overall for the 2025 reporting year, with growth across measured domains and a 94% rate on college, career and military readiness (CCMR).
Gabby Nino, teaching-and-learning leader, reviewed the TEA accountability structure and said the district’s overall B is the first since the 2021–22 system. Nino said the district showed year-over-year improvement in Student Achievement, School Progress and Closing the Gaps, noting especially strong gains in Closing the Gaps. Nino said the district earned 15 distinctions across campuses and was at or above state and regional performance in 54 of 60 measured areas.
Nino and trustees credited sustained curriculum work, targeted professional learning, and work with teacher leaders and instructional coaches. The district highlighted assessment-for-learning initiatives, performance-based tasks and revisions to curriculum documents to emphasize high-priority standards, differentiated strategies and clearer learning targets.
Trustees noted the district’s CCMR rating as a notable improvement over several years and praised counselors, CTE staff and partners. Board members said the accountability rating is one measure among others and emphasized continued work, particularly in math fluency and higher-order writing skills.
Administration said it will continue monitoring performance, implement targeted supports for English learners and continue coaching cycles to sustain and deepen gains throughout the year.
