The Imperial City Council approved acceptance of a recorded grant easement described on the agenda as for APN 6Three-one2100603, covering the area from Twelfth Street to Thirteenth Street, to clarify the location and description of a city waterline. City staff said the recorded document contained a reservation in the legal description but did not clearly delineate the easement area or the waterline; an in-house licensed surveyor reviewed the record and recommended preparing a new document to describe the easement precisely.
Presenter Mr. Mora told the council that, after the in-house surveyor David Dale reviewed the recorded document, the property owners were prepared to convey the corrected easement and staff recommended approval. “The document that was recorded, shows a reservation on the legals, but it doesn't specifically show the area of an easement or the waterline that we, currently have in place,” the presenter said. He said the new document would be recorded to identify and describe the waterline easement.
A council member moved and a second was recorded; the council voted to approve the acceptance and recording, and the motion carried 3-0. Staff did not provide further details on any compensation or conditions on the record.
The acceptance will allow staff to record a clarified easement document that identifies the waterline and the easement area for the parcel listed in the agenda item.
