County engineering presented four final-payment resolutions on Aug. 26 after summer construction work wrapped up: - Contract 316 (Marvin Shredder): box culvert projects, certified at about 97% of the original $1,184,000 bid. - Contract 317 (Anderson Brothers Construction): reconstruction on County Road 1 near Alexander, certified at about 97.7% of the original $2,400,000 estimate. - Contract 318 (Ninth River Corporation): County Road 256/160 project in partnership with Little Falls Township, certified at roughly 96.4% of the original $657,000 bid; federal grant funds were used on this project. - Contract 2501 (Camco Inc.): annual maintenance striping, completed at 100.15% of the bid due to some additional striping; striping is part of the county27s safety program to refresh markings on approximately a third of county miles annually. Public works director Anna told the board that engineering staff inspect projects and that in-house design and inspection helped keep many contract costs under bid. Commissioners praised the engineering team's oversight and the visible safety improvements on reconstructed corridors. All four final-payment resolutions were approved by roll-call votes during the meeting.
