Commission adopts code change to allow county manager to release performance bonds

Brevard County staff asked the board Aug. 12 to adopt an amendment to the county code — Chapter 62, Article 7, Division 2, section 62‑2844 — to permit the county manager or the manager’s designee to release performance bonds for development projects after staff accept completed work. The board had previously reviewed the proposal at legislative-intent and local-planning levels; staff said the change would streamline administration by allowing staff to release performance security once work meets county standards rather than requiring full board action for routine releases.
