Long‑range planning pipeline: Staff distributed a one‑page long‑range planning status report. The prioritized list included: (1) mass timber code update (grant deadline referenced), (2) Buildable Lands Inventory (BLI) — staff asked commissioners to review the materials and schedule a follow‑up, (3) Railroad District feasibility study (on tonight's agenda), and (4) Highway 99/Bear Creek corridor re‑envisioning with consultant work ongoing. Staff noted the Climate‑Friendly and Equitable Communities work that the city has a DLCD extension to complete by 12/31/2025 and that litigation at the state level may affect timing.
Study session scheduling: Commissioners agreed to hold a study session at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 to prioritize commission projects and discuss working group arrangements; staff will coordinate agenda items and meeting notice.
The updates include operational fixes (website) and multiple pipeline items that will return to the commission for further discussion, public hearings, or council action as appropriate.
