Council postpones decision on transient lodging tax overhaul, requests July study session

City staff presented proposed changes to Talent's transient lodging tax ordinance, including model code language recommended by the Oregon Department of Revenue, a proposed rate increase from 6% to 10%, and a reallocation of revenues away from a prior 100% parks dedication toward a split that would dedicate 51.5% to parks and up to 48.5% to the general fund (subject to state allocation rules).
