Board finalizes superintendent contract and approves several administrative appointments

In separate actions, the board approved a set of administrative personnel recommendations presented after executive session. The board approved Vanessa Bettencourt as director of human resources for staffing; Dr. Nina Salas as principal of Options/Keyes High School; Thomas Oaxaca as assistant principal at Eastlake Middle School; Monica Hernandez as assistant principal of Myrtle Cooper Elementary School; and Sarah Ruedas as assistant principal of Sierra Vista STEAM Academy.
Motions to approve each administrative recommendation were made and passed during the public meeting; the board recorded aye votes to adopt the personnel changes. No salary or contract details were discussed in open session beyond the authorization to finalize the superintendent contract.
