The Socorro ISD board authorized Board President Michael Najera on Aug. 20 to finalize the contract of employment for James P. Vasquez to serve as superintendent, following closed‑session negotiations. Legal counsel confirmed a clean final version would be sent to Vasquez’s counsel, and the board voted to authorize the president’s signature.
