Fremont County commissioners approved the District 3 attachment to the annual interagency fire operating plan after receiving a presentation from local fire representatives. The attachment covers mutual‑aid relationships and reciprocal fire protection arrangements among agencies in parts of Fremont, Hot Springs, Washakie, Bighorn and Clark counties.
A county fire representative outlined that the document is an annual agreement describing how federal, state and local agencies provide fire protection and reciprocal services. Staff said the District 3 attachment is unchanged from recent years except for some personnel names and that it had been reviewed at a March meeting in Thermopolis with participating agencies.
Commissioners asked about summer fire‑season readiness and where to report planned burns; staff advised residents in Riverton to notify Riverton Police Department to reach the Riverton Fire District and to call the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office for incidents outside the Riverton area.
Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the interagency operating plan.
