County approves plats, development agreement and support letter for BEAD broadband application

The Floyd County building and development director, Nick Creeby, presented multiple land-development items on Feb. 11 and the board acted on them and on a broadband support letter.
Creeby asked the board to sign the replat of Sundown Farms (plat number 1357), a minor modification adding three lots; the planning commission had approved the replat. The board signed the replat documents as requested.
Creeby also presented Highlands Section 2A (plat 1573) with a development agreement and a performance bond for infrastructure improvements; the board voted to approve the development agreement and sign the plat. Creeby said the performance bond covered approximately $1,201,168 for the infrastructure improvements and that the submittal met approval requirements.
On broadband, Creeby presented a draft letter of support for a BEAD (Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment) application intended to provide web services throughout the county. He said AT&T had requested the letter and was not seeking local funding; the board voted to approve the letter and authorize the county executive to sign a finalized copy outside the meeting.
Creeby also updated the board on the Old Vincennes/Highlander Point intersection improvement at Triber Road, reporting that the last utility expected to relocate infrastructure by Feb. 20, with construction anticipated to begin in March and phased closures between Tuscany and Duffy. The county said it will notify the school district, affected residents and businesses directly and post detour information on the county website.
The board approved the replat signature, the Highlands Section 2A development agreement and the BEAD support letter by voice votes recorded in the meeting transcript.
