Letcher County Fiscal Court on March 28 approved awarding low-bid contracts for multiple road projects after ER Assist staff presented the bids and recommended low bidders.
Brandon Betsworth of ER Assist summarized bid results for several project groupings. Among the low bids reported: CNC was the low bidder on work for B53, B3 branch, Barkham branch and Batesport (low bid listed as $31,934.4 for project 736031); B Rock was the low bidder on projects including Gap Branch, Big Rock, Franklin Branch and Flower Road (project 742975 low bid $21,930) and on Spring Branch and Tom Days River (project 735625 low bid $35,188). CNC was also the low bidder on a Brooklyn/Richland Road project (project 722732 low bid $6,273). The court moved to accept the low bids and approve the contract awards.
A motion to approve the listed low bids was made and seconded; the court recorded the motion and members voted to approve the awards. Court members asked for follow-up coordination on scheduling and contractor start dates; staff indicated they would provide logistic updates at future meetings.
The court also discussed culvert and disaster-related work in the same agenda series and approved related awards, which are covered in a companion action on culvert/disaster repairs.
ER Assist requested that residents interested in buyout programs submit applications by the stated April deadline (separate program update).
