Commission sets $5.50 minimum for solid-waste overage bills, writes off smaller amounts
After staff recommended reducing administrative burden of billing small overages, commissioners approved a $5.50 minimum threshold: overage accounts below that amount will not be billed and will be written off.

County solid-waste staff advised the commission that many small overage bills (for disposal outside of contracted services) cost more to bill than the amounts owed. Staff recommended establishing a minimum billing threshold so the office would not create and mail low-dollar invoices.
