DHS to adopt State Plan amendment to report additional Medicaid core‑set measures required by CMS

The Department of Human Services presented a State Plan Amendment implementing additional Medicaid core‑set reporting measures newly required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for 2024.
Veil Smith told the committee that some measures in the core set had been previously voluntary and that CMS now requires states to report additional measures. DHS said the amendment is an attestation that the state will comply with the federal reporting requirement.
DHS estimated a fiscal impact of about $64,000 for the additional measure calculations, approximately $32,000 of which would be state funds. Committee members had no additional questions and the chair recorded the rule as reviewed and approved.
DHS said it had been reporting most measures voluntarily prior to the new CMS requirement and would add those it had not previously reported to comply with the annual requirements.
