The Washington County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve a small-scale future land-use map amendment for a 3.19-acre parcel at 52 Corbin Road, permitting a change from agriculture/silviculture to residential low to allow an additional housing unit.
County planner Miss McDonald told the board the immediate family exception could not be applied and that a map amendment was the appropriate option; the planning commission recommended approval on May 5 and county staff also recommended approval. "They were unable to use the immediate family exception on this," Miss McDonald said in her presentation.
One commissioner announced an abstention because the commissioner's property adjoins the subject parcel. A motion to approve the amendment was moved and seconded and passed on voice vote with that abstention recorded.
There were no public comments opposing the change during the public hearing. The board closed the hearing and directed staff to implement the map change reflected in the approved planning action.
