One commissioner said the county’s trade-in value for the existing mower would likely be scrap value; staff reported a capital-reserve balance in the mower line of roughly $10,518.30 and other capital lines that could be drawn on if needed.
The quoted Sourcewell price in the discussion was $32,085; staff said the county would be roughly $22,000 short if it purchased at that price without additional appropriations. Commissioners asked whether multiple bids had been sought and directed staff to obtain at least three bids to meet the county’s purchasing policy before moving forward.
The board agreed to table the procurement until staff returned with additional bids and paperwork.
