Commission approves $43,387 IT refresh contract for county server room

The Miami County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a $43,387.12 contract with ISG on May 14 to refresh network switches and UPS units in the county server room.
Lucas Mellinger, assistant county administrator, told the commissioners the work covers installation; the physical hardware carries a three-year warranty and similar systems in comparable county environments typically last four to six years.
"The total cost for this item is $43,387.12. The funding will come out of the technology fund, which was funded by a transfer from the general fund and is currently at $750,000," Mellinger said. He said the technology fund balance is adequate to cover the purchase.
Commission Chairman George Pretz moved to approve the contract; Commissioner Vaughn seconded. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
