The Breckenridge City Council approved a resolution supporting an application to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) 2025 Transportation Alternate Set‑Aside call for projects for sidewalk and ADA improvements.
Staff said the project scope includes sidewalk improvements on the north and south sides and ADA upgrades along Sidewatch from Wilson to Sunset. Staff presented an estimated project cost of $2,400,000 and described the resolution as a local letter of support required for the TxDOT application.
Council action: a motion to approve the resolution supporting the TxDOT project application was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no opposition.
Implementation: staff will submit the application to TxDOT and, if awarded, will return to council with project details and funding commitments; staff noted award is competitive and that the city would be responsible for any cost overages if the project exceeds the grant amount.
