Weld County accepts two quick-claim deeds from CDOT for Peckham interchange work on County Road 44

Weld County commissioners on May 5 accepted two quick-claim deeds conveying right-of-way for the County Road 44 and U.S. Highway 85 (Peckham) interchange project and authorized the chair to sign the documents.
Don Dunker of Weld County Public Works told the board the east tie-in conveyance totals about 4.58 acres and the west tie-in about 1.57 acres. County and CDOT staff agreed on the limits for each parcel; CDOT paid for the right-of-way acquisitions as part of the interchange project.
Commissioners moved and approved resolutions accepting each deed. The board recorded that the conveyed areas are at the overpass tie-ins where County Road 44 connects to the new interchange and noted the county’s future maintenance responsibilities for the segments where county maintenance begins.
Public Works staff said they can answer follow-up questions about exact parcel limits and where county maintenance will begin. The board approved the acceptances by roll call.
