Jackson County administrator announces resignation effective June 3

Miss Daniels, the county administrator for Jackson County, formally submitted her resignation effective June 3, 2025, and read a letter to the Board of County Commissioners at the meeting.

In her prepared remarks she wrote, "After much reflection and prayer, I'm writing to formally submit my resignation as county administrator for Jackson County, Florida effective 06/03/2025." She summarized her tenure: "It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Jackson County for the past 18 years, including the last 7 in the role of county administrator." Daniels also thanked family members who supported her public service.

Commissioners responded with expressions of gratitude. Chairman Westbrook and other commissioners praised Daniels' leadership through events the letter enumerated, including hurricane Michael and the COVID-19 pandemic. "I think you've done a wonderful job," one commissioner said, and others said they wished her well in future endeavors.

Daniels said she would continue to support the county during the transition and expressed confidence in staff. No personnel action or timeline to replace the administrator was taken at the meeting; commissioners and staff noted next steps would follow the county's established personnel and transition procedures.
