Investigation committee approves RFP draft, authorizes chair to finalize confidentiality and licensing language

The Nantucket County Investigation Committee approved edits to a draft request for proposals for an independent investigation of the African American Meeting House and voted to authorize the committee chair to finalize outstanding confidentiality and licensing language.

Committee members said the RFP will ask for a six-month project timeline with a maximum contract length of one year and directed staff to issue the RFP broadly through the Commonwealth procurement channels. The committee also set a tentative schedule to post the RFP the week of May 21 and to meet the week of July 7 to begin evaluating proposals.

Committee members spent the meeting reviewing the RFP section by section. They identified two unresolved items the committee asked staff and legal counsel to finalize: wording on confidentiality requirements and the precise licensing or professional-certification language required of proposers. Committee staff said they were waiting for guidance from KP Law on confidentiality language and would include whichever language legal counsel recommends.
