The Livingston Parish Planning & Zoning Commission on Jan. 9 voted to recommend that the parish council amend Chapter 125 to define subdivision classifications and application procedures (Section 125-2d) and to correct a drafting inconsistency in lot-count language.
The package under review updates how developers and applicants will be classified for subdivision review (simple subdivisions, major subdivisions, etc.). Commissioners heard that the draft they received on Dec. 5 remains the baseline for this recommendation and that no additional substantive amendments were proposed at the hearing.
Commissioner Farris pointed out an editorial inconsistency: the first paragraph lists “9 lots” for a simple subdivision but a later sentence had “20 lots” circled. Farris and staff agreed the text should consistently read “9 lots,” and staff recorded the correction to be made before the council packet.
