The Elko County Planning Commission opened its meeting with an announcement that Commissioner David Howell had died following a motorcycle crash on Corral Lane earlier in the week. Chair (name not specified) said Howell was life-flighted to Salt Lake City after the March 8 incident, was placed on life support and died on March 10. The chair said Howell was born March 4, 1945.
