Board forms infrastructure, budget and programming committees and approves consultant use

Chair Dale proposed and the board approved three standing committees to focus on infrastructure, budgeting and translator/programming matters.
Dale said the infrastructure committee should include district board members and key local users such as public-safety agencies and amateur radio operators to develop a five-year plan for sites and maintenance. He recommended himself and Kent for the infrastructure committee, Rick and Brian for the translator/programming committee, and Kent and the chair for the budget committee.
“I want to be on the infrastructure committee and the way I envision this is meeting with key clients who use our infrastructure, primarily public-safety agencies,” Dale said.
The board approved the committee slate and also approved using contracted subject-matter experts — named contractors Kenny, Crystal and Peyton — at agreed contract rates to advise committees on technical and planning work. The board discussed open-meeting posting requirements for committee meetings that include more than two board members and asked staff to confirm posting rules at the upcoming open-meetings training.
Staff will coordinate meeting schedules and post agendas as required by law. The board emphasized transparency and asked that committee work be brought back to the full board for formal action when needed.
