The City Commission approved the Local Housing Assistance Plan required under Florida’s State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) program on April 8.
The plan (agenda item 4E) will be submitted to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation for review and approval as required by state statute and Florida Administrative Code. Susan Nabors, director of finance and administrative services, and Deputy Mayor Neil Kirch (who serves as the city representative on the affordability board) acknowledged the advisory board’s role in guiding the plan and thanked advisory board members for their work.
The measure passed 5-0. Staff said the plan aligns with statutory requirements and local priorities; the commission thanked staff and advisory board members and asked for continued outreach to residents on housing resources.
