Commissioners to visit Parkview dispatch center to study priority dispatching and collaboration

Williams County commissioners discussed arranging a visit to Parkview’s dispatch center to observe how that center handles priority dispatching and to explore potential operational collaboration.

A commissioner who raised the item said the intent is to learn how Parkview dispatches and whether the county could adopt priority-dispatch procedures or collaborate on equipment purchases, such as stretchers or power cots, and maintenance cycles. The commissioner emphasized that the exploration is not intended to abandon the county’s own EMS staff: "It's, by no means, does it mean abandoning our people," the speaker said, adding that local responders are dedicated and valued.

Participants identified possible attendees for the visit, including Heather, Jesse, Kyle, commissioners and members of the media. Another commissioner recommended that the county’s 911 director and EMS director be the primary decision-makers about any operational changes, noting the directors would be best placed to assess impacts such as whether moving positions into a shared center would disrupt operations.
