The Flathead County Board of Commissioners on April 10 adopted a revised set of seasonal load limits for county roads, approved a Forest Service-requested encroachment permit to place a service gate at the Blankenship gravel bar, and took routine actions including appointments to advisory boards and approvals of subdivision plats and a zone change.
The board signed Resolution No. 2630A to identify roads that will remain under seasonal restriction; Road and Bridge staff said signs on the remaining restricted roads will be removed beginning Monday morning. The board also approved an encroachment permit allowing a gate on county right-of-way at the southwest quadrant of Blankenship Bridge; Forest Service staff said temporary closures and signs have not stopped vehicles from accessing the gravel bar during high water.
Other formal actions included: the appointment of Anne Ingram to the Solid Waste District Board as a Board of Health representative, the appointment of Mark Lechte to the Technical Advisory Committee, the appointment of Rory Young to the City of Kalispell Planning Commission, approval of the final plat for Green Valley Eighth Filing (Remington Mountain LLC), adoption of final Resolution No. 797IZ (Schaeffer zone change in the Evergreen Zoning District from R-2 to R-5), and approval of the preliminary plat for the Andersen Subdivision (two residential lots at 1188 Lost Creek Drive).

The meeting record shows each motion was moved and seconded and the board voted “Aye” with no recorded oppositions. Individual roll-call tallies were not read into the record for most items; minutes state simply “Motion carries.”
Why this matters: the seasonal load-limit resolution affects commercial vehicle routing and enforcement on county roads during spring thaw; the encroachment permit responds to repeated public-safety and environmental incidents on a popular gravel bar; the plats and zone change move private development proposals through the county’s subdivision and zoning review processes.
The board recessed multiple times during the session and heard a series of informational updates between actions, including periodic reports from library and transit staff.
