Rye Brook trustees approve appointments, event permit, DCJS access and youth-program fee changes

Appointments and personnel: The board approved a contingent appointment of Police Officer David Krajewski to the rank of police sergeant, effective per the terms of an offer letter dated Jan. 15, 2025. Trustees said they expect a small ceremony to acknowledge the sergeant’s appointment at a future meeting. The vote was unanimous.
Sustainability committee: The board appointed Sam Zarkauer (term ending April 2028) and Ray Cao Kaao (term ending April 2026) to the sustainability committee. One appointment is for a full three-year term and the other fills a partial term. Trustees thanked both appointees for volunteering.
Event permit: The board authorized the Westchester Endurance Corporation to use village streets for the 2025 Westchester Triathlon on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, subject to final approval and conditions set by the Rye Brook Police Department. Trustees noted the event has a long history in the village and voted to approve the street use.
Law-enforcement data access: Trustees approved an agreement to maintain user access to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) databases for criminal history, wanted/missing-persons and related records. The resolution states there is no cost associated with the agreement.
Youth-program fee changes: The board approved a modification to the license and fee schedule to add two youth programs—Rookie League and T-Bowl—at a fee of $250 per participant, administered by an outside contractor, Justin Sherman of Just In Time. The contractor will receive 75% of program fees and the village will retain 25%.
Minutes and administrative items: Trustees approved minutes for prior meetings (August and Sept. 10, 2024) and heard updates from staff on summer camp planning and state budget issues; no substantive action on summer-camp fees was taken at this meeting.
